Understanding Medical Healthcare Solutions in GIS Platform: A Review

Abstract
Geographic Information System (GIS) software technologies have a wide range of uses in healthcare, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of many medical services. GIS has become an essential tool in the healthcare industry, enabling visualization, analysis, improve healthcare management and delivery, and support long-term developments of spatial health data. Mapping and analysis of medical data through GIS tools helps in allowing health organizations to better understanding of disease spread, patterns and trends across geographic regions. This provides a strong data management system allowing researchers to get insights into how disease spread connects patient records. It has become a must-have tool for public health practitioners, allowing for data-driven decision making, more efficient resource allocation, and improved disease surveillance and response. The National Geospatial Policy 2022 is a 13-year guideline issued by the Govt. of India to boost the nation’s geospatial data business and create a country-level framework for using such data to improve citizen services. GIS enables healthcare organizations to make better educated, data-driven decisions that take into account the specific geographic and demographic characteristics that influence medical and public health concerns.
