Abstract
A well-educated professional woman rarely finds contentment in the purely demanding endeavour of becoming a mother and raising children. In addition, she aspires to live independently outside the house like her spouse so that she may experience independence and follow her dreams of starting a new life. The dual responsibilities of a woman in India—that of a housewife and an earner—are at odds with one another as a result of married women joining the workforce. The normal pattern of a husband-and-wife relationship in the tradition-oriented family social system of India is male dominance and female dependability. The husband has a higher status than the wife and is typically the one to make the majority of the critical decisions. When ladies who were employed had to handle home chores in addition to their careers and relied on their husbands for support, they found it difficult to adjust when their husbands failed to provide it. The transition in married women's roles to become workers, especially mothers, is evident in their socializing, serving, and reflecting roles at home. Nonetheless, the majority of Indian communities continue to value male authority while giving their women more influence over household decisions. Till date, a working woman in India faces lot of mental stress due to insecurity of jobs, additional work pressure in working environment and to handle children as a mother and family issues with husband.
